12'6'' by Boardworks 12'6'' Square Tail Model by Boardworks The 12'6'' square tail raceboard is multi-purpose race board and will fill the needs of different riders requirements. It is a balanced board with a square tailblock, making it stable in moderate to rough following seas. With the 12'6'' becoming the standard for buoy racing, the square tail allows the rider to step on the tail and spin the board around the buoy with ease. An open ocean bump or a real wave coming in to the beach offers the rider an opportunity to use a surf stance on the back third of the board, giving maximum control of a turn. Use of my proven rocker from my laydown paddleboards makes this board fit in the troughs of both Hawaiian and California coastal waters as evidenced with wins in many Hawaiian events, as well as the legendary Catalina event in California.
