 Hawaiian
Paddleboards
Paddler • Craftsman • Visionary
Dennis (right) is a respected waterman and shaper with surfing
and paddling experience spanning a lifetime. He has shaped over 27,000 surfboards
including single fins, twin fins, thrusters, fun boards and long boards for surfers
in Hawaii, California, Australia, Brazil, Peru and Japan. With this extensive
background he began experimenting with shaping paddle boards in the spring of
1990. Collaborating with Gerry Lopez and incorporating the technology and use
of EPS polystyrene foam and epoxy resin from the windsurfing industry. Dennis
strove to make the lightest and strongest paddle board possible; lightness being
the inherent factor in a fast, competitive race board.
LAWE I KA MA'ALEA A KU'ONO'ONO — Take
wisdom and make it deep
Anyone
who has surfed knows that surfing is about 90% padding. Whether you are an expert
surfer or just beginning, mastering the paddleboard technique is the first step
to improving your game. Paddleboard racing was one of the greatest sports in Hawaii
when Captain Cook first came, yet it's origins go back to ancient times and old
legends. It may be an old sport but it's benefits and the enjoyment it gives makes
it a valuable part of the surfing lifestyle. If you mean to be serious about your
paddling, then the only requirement is a good board. Hawaiian Paddleboards are
the latest evolution of this long heritage of design and function. Dennis' father
Joe (upper left) was a surfer as was Joe's father before him. Three generations,
maybe more dedicated to this Sport of Kings. Dennis' genetic background as well
as his own spiritual connection to surfing, shaping and paddleboard racing has
created the perfect shape. Combining the synergy of Tiger Taylor's Construction,
engineering and design skills have resulted in the finest, state of the art 12'
and 16'6" open class molded paddleboards available. If fast paddling is what
you have in mind, you need to treat yourself to the best there is.
